The interview, hosted by famed broadcaster
Pat Summerall, featured the CEO of CC Technologies, Dr. Neil
G. Thompson. Dr. Thompson discussed the philosophy of CC Technologies
as being a world leader in corrosion science and engineering.
He noted that CC Technologies’ slogan “Solving problems
through innovation” describes the uniqueness of the company’s
ability to solve problems by using the collective experience
of multiple engineering disciplines. These areas of expertise
include: materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering,
electrical engineering, chemical engineering, ceramic engineering,
polymer science, aerospace engineering, petroleum engineering,
civil engineering, theoretical and applied mechanics, and

Dr. Thompson discussed CC Technologies’
selection to perform a Congressional mandated study of the
economic impact of corrosion in the US. The study revealed
that the cost of corrosion in the US is approximately $276
billion annually. Dr. Thompson stressed the need for public
awareness to appreciate that corrosion can be controlled and
that there are several safety issues to the public and industrial
workers concerning aging infrastructure and industrial facilities.
Dr. Thompson stated that corrosion and the respective costs
can be significantly reduced through preventative measures
such as coatings, chemical inhibitors, and cathodic protection.For

Dr. Thompson pointed out that CC Technologies’
