Dr. Carl E. Jaske |
The American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (ASME) has appointed Dr. Carl E. Jaske of CC
Technologies, Inc. (A DNV Company) to the Board of Directors
for the International Pipeline Conference Foundation (IPCF).
The IPCF was formed “to
organize, manage and promote the International Pipeline Conference,
to educate and provide strategic knowledge and advice to
organizations and individuals involved in the pipeline industry
and provide funding related thereto, and to fund research
activities relating to the pipeline industry …” The
IPCF Board met for the first time in Calgary on May 25, 2006,
and elected Dr. Jaske Chairman of the Board. The three other
Board members are Reginald I. Vachon of Direct Measurements,
Inc., Donald M. Wishart of TransCanada, and Arthur D. Meyer
of Enbridge Pipelines Inc.
Dr. Jaske indicates that the IPCF manages
the International Pipeline Conference (IPC) on behalf of
the ASME Pipeline Systems Division and the Canadian Energy
Pipeline Association (CEPA). He points out the IPC is internationally
recognized as the premier technical conference dedicated
to pipeline engineering and technology. IPC is held every
other year in Calgary. The 6th International Pipeline Conference
that was held on September 25 through 29, 2006, was outstanding.
More than 1200 delegates from 35 countries participated in
tutorials, technical sessions and panel discussions related
to various aspects of pipeline technology. The conference
proceedings are available from ASME. The IPCF plans to use
surplus revenue from IPC 2006 to support development of IPC
2008 and other educational and research activities.
