CC Technologies Acquires MIST-
Multiphase Interactive Systems and Technologies, Inc.
08/21/03
Inline Separation System-Flow
Inducer |
MIST is an internationally known leader in
the field of multiphase flow technologies for pipelines. Their
expertise covers flow monitoring, flow improvement, in-line
separation technology, and ultra-high-resolution ultrasound
(UHRU) technology for measuring corrosion rate, internal film
thickness, and flow characteristics. Dr. W. Paul Jepson founded
MIST and will remain as Vice President of the Multiphase Systems
(MIST) a Division of CC Technologies Laboratories, Inc.

Ultrasonic Monitoring System |
MIST has two ongoing “Joint Industry
Programs” – Flow Improvement and Corrosion and
Solids Management. Other major projects include corrosion
inhibition in wet gas pipelines, commercialization of an in-line
multiphase separator, and corrosion and erosion rate monitoring
by non-intrusive ultrasound technology.
Equipment capabilities at MIST include two
4-inch diameter pipe multiphase flow systems. These systems
allow for pressures up to 1,000 psig, gas velocities up to
40 m/s, liquid velocities up to 5 m/s, and solids capability.
MIST will maintain its current facilities in Orlando, Florida
housed in a 7,000-ft2 laboratory-office facility.
Dr.
Neil Thompson, CEO of CC Technologies, states – “CC
Technologies is extremely pleased that Dr. Jepson and the
entire MIST staff has joined the CC Technologies team. MIST
expands our current capabilities in the oil and gas production
area, clearly establishing our leadership in that particular
business sector to go along with our leadership in oil and
gas transmission business sector.” He further says:
“CC Technologies is a world leader in integrity management
of pipelines and facilities; the MIST acquisition is a significant
part of our strategic plan to extend that leadership role
into all aspects of the oil and gas sector.”
