DNV has announced today the acquisition of Cortest Columbus Technologies (CCT). DNV and CCT have very complementary technological market positions. The acquisition will increase the competence and service to better serve expanding markets.

DNV is a knowledge-based organization. Its prime assets are the creativity, knowledge, and expertise of their employees. Most of the over 6000 employees are highly qualified engineers and technical personnel.

DNV is an international company with about 300 offices in 100 different countries. Headquartered in Oslo (Høvik), Norway, DNVs global network is linked by efficient information technology enabling us to create value for our customers in a coherent and consistent manner worldwide.

Neil Thompson, founder of CCT, will continue as the President and had this to say regarding the acquisition: “This is a great opportunity to take our knowledge, experiences and services to a higher level. The similar corporate philosophies and commitment to technical excellence and customer satisfaction exhibited by the two organizations provide an attractive option for CCT to continue to pursue its strategic goals under the DNV brand.”

Elisabeth Harstad, DNV Executive Vice President: “This is a large step forward for DNV towards the onshore pipeline market.” She added: “A vital part of the DNV Technology Services (DNV TS) strategy is to become the leading provider of technology services to the onshore pipeline market as well as the offshore one. Over the past few years we have evaluated several companies that could strengthen our position in this market. Now that all of the papers are signed, I’m sure the final solution will be a win-win situation and that CCT will fit into the DNV culture.”

To assist in the integration process, DNV will be strengthening CCT’s management team with a service integration manager and a financial manager from the existing DNV organization.

Craig Colby, the DNV TS regional manager for North America, has been in charge of the successful negotiation process. He will now become chairman of the board of CCT.
