Neil Thompson
Elected as NACE President

Dr. Neil G. Thompson,
CEO of CC Technologies, has been selected to serve as NACE
president for the 2005/2006 term. A member of NACE since
1975, Neil has been a member of the Board of Directors
since 2001. He served as the Association’s
Treasurer from 2001 to 2003 and as Vice President in 2004/2005.
Additionally, he has been an active member of several Board
committees—Awards, Exhibits, Research, and Finance.
Neil has been extensively involved in the technical committees,
serving on the former NACE T-3L and T-10A Task Groups. He
was Conference Symposium Chairman in 1984, 1991, and 1998.
Neil received the 1988 A.B. Campbell Award for young authors.
Dr. Thompson received his B.Sc. in
engineering from the University of Alabama–Birmingham
(UAB) in 1976, his M.S. in materials science engineering
in from UAB 1977, and his Ph.D. in materials science engineering
from Vanderbilt University in 1981. Neil was recently inducted
into the State of Alabama, Engineering Hall
of Fame,
where he was honored for his significant contributions
to science and engineering as a Scholar-Executive dedicated
to fighting the $276
Billion Annual Corrosion Cost in the US.
