Technologies Systems, Inc. Electrochemical Interface EI-120
An Electrochemical Interface is used when
measuring voltages where circuit impedances are very high.
High impedances can be caused by an extremely high resistance
electrolyte (e.g. high purity water, non-aqueous electrolytes,
dry soils, dry concrete) Using a standard voltmeter when impedance
gets up to 108 to 109 ohms, or higher,
can result in such problems as electrostatic pickup, electrical
noise, and leakage currents.
The CCT Electrochemical Interface EI-120 is
a small, lightweight, efficient instrument, designed to be
used with a digital multi-meter to measure voltages in high
impedance circuits. It has a low battery indicator, a buffered
output, and an input impedance of 1013 ohms. It
is housed in a small plastic case that plugs directly into
the front of a digital multi-meter.
