CC
Technologies Systems Inc. ZRA Model ZR-120
A Zero Resistance Ammeter (ZRA) is used
to measure very low levels of current with high precision. Ordinary
ammeters measure current by adding a known resistance and measuring
the resulting voltage drop, which is then converted into current.
However, this method can actually interfere with the circuit
being measured, and can be sensitive to temperatures. A ZRA
also measures current by changing current to voltage, but uses
a feedback loop to maintain accuracy, without the voltage drop
of an ordinary ammeter.
The CC Technologies Systems Inc. Model
ZR-120 ZRA was designed specifically for electrochemical applications
requiring high accuracy measurements over a wide range of
input currents. The ZR-120 is a compact, laboratory grade
instrument, that is compatible with laboratory data acquisition
systems as well as stand-alone digital multi-meters.
Selectable measurement ranges allow
accurate current measurement from 10nA (10 x 10-9A)
to 100mA (0.1A). A maximum input bias current of 250pA (250
x 10-12A) ensures accurate measurement over the
entire range of currents typically observed in electrochemical
testing applications. A buffered 0 to 10-volt output is available
on the front panel.
