The
coating inspector is a quality assurance person whose job
it is to ensure that all aspects of a coating job are handled
according to the written coating specification, assuming one
is available. Essentially, the inspector is a third party
observer who understands all aspects of the job but performs
none of the individual tasks; he/she makes sure that the job
is done in the specified way with the specified materials
by the proper procedure.
For good long-term
performance of a coating application, an essential component
is to have a trained, qualified coating inspector. CC Technologies
is proud to offer NACE certified coating inspection for QA
on coating jobs.
| The
third party coating inspector: |
| Is independent from
the applicator, manufacturer, and owner |
| Keeps complete records
for the entire job |
| Is normally hired
by, and reports directly to the owner |
| Ensures compliance
with the coating specification |
Coating inspection work may take place on
a job site, in a fabrication yard, in a plant, in a pipe mill
or coating shop, on an offshore platform, or on an assembly
line. Large coating contracts may call for independent third
party inspection as a requirement for the job. In addition,
surveys of coating condition on an existing structure and
failure analyses are part of what we offer.
In addition to traditional coating inspection
duties, CC Technologies can offer expert consultation on matters
above and beyond the normal duties of the inspector. These
include specification development and review, laboratory testing
of coatings, on-site QC testing, assistance with materials
selection, and corrosion surveys.
