Bruce A. Cookingham

Bruce A. CookinghamMr. Cookingham is Senior Vice President of Corrosion Services, a department of CC Technologies that includes external and internal corrosion field testing, inspections, and engineering.  Mr. Cookingham has over twenty-eight years experience in corrosion engineering and the applications of external and internal corrosion methodologies in gathering, transmission, and storage fields in gas and liquid pipelines systems.  His career in corrosion began in pipeline operations, where he held several technical positions of increasing responsibilities.  In 1987, he was moved into engineering holding several positions of increasing responsibilities.  His experience has primarily focused on internal corrosion while applying practical solutions that demonstrate effective results.

Mr. Cookingham has experience developing internal corrosion methodologies and strategies in gathering, transmission, and storage field pipelines and facilities to comply with all Local, State and Federal regulatory requirements.  While at ANR Pipeline Company, he led the development of an Internal Corrosion Users Handbook that was later adopted for use by the El Paso Pipeline Group and later used as the foundation to develop the NACE Internal Corrosion training material.

He was instrumental in developing an internal corrosion methodology responsible for reducing leak frequencies from over seven to less than one per year.  During the same period reduced chemical usage and expenditures with annual savings of over $1M.  He is credited with leading a team responsible for developing an enterprise-wide database system for managing internal corrosion monitoring with automated data interfaces with chemical and metallurgical instrumentation and real-time field data collection and analysis.  Mr. Cookingham contributed with development of a technology to differentiate between internal corrosion mechanisms using coupon exposed to pipeline conditions.
